Emotional Allen Iverson Marks Philly Return
Filed at 3:45 a.m. ET
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Allen Iverson felt the love as soon as he parked at the Wachovia Center.
He waved to the fans who waited outside in the Philadelphia cold to greet him, and turned a routine pregame warmup into a scene straight out of a red carpet arrival.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, but the Baltimore Ravens rallied for two touchdowns in the span of 30 seconds to cut Green Bay's lead to 17-14 after three quarters on a chilly Monday night.
Joe Flacco, who had been bothered by a right ankle sprain, finally got Baltimore on the board with 3:28 left in the third quarter on a 12-yard TD pass to Kelley Washington to cap an 11-play drive following Donald Driver's fumble.
Top-ranked Ala., No. 2 Texas to play for BCS title
Alabama and Texas get to play in a national title game. For TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State, the math doesn't quite add up but they still get a spot in a BCS bowl.
The quirky, imperfect method of choosing a national champion succeeded Sunday in matching top-ranked Alabama against No. 2 Texas in the BCS championship — a Jan. 7 game between undefeated teams that will bring together Heisman Trophy hopefuls Colt McCoy of the Longhorns and Mark Ingram of the Crimson Tide.
And, of course, it also produced plenty for the little guys to get upset about.
Saints stay perfect, beat Redskins 33-30 in OT
LANDOVER, Md. — Oh, what a charmed life the unbeaten New Orleans Saints are leading these days.
There's surely no other way to explain the shanked punt that turned into a 29-yard gain, the Drew Brees interception that somehow morphed into another touchdown for Robert Meachem, or the fact that the Washington Redskins missed a 23-yard field goal that would have sealed a victory with less than 2 minutes to play.
Therefore, it seemed inevitable that Brees, operating with no timeouts, would lead an 80-yard, game-tying drive that took just 33 seconds and tied the game with 1:19 remaining. And, of course, in overtime, the Saints benefited from a replay reversal and won Sunday's game 33-30 on Garrett Hartley's 18-yard field goal 6:29 into the extra period.
Tide rolls on with 32-13 win over Tebow's Gators
ATLANTA — The move was so unlike Nick Saban. The Alabama coach put away all that boardroom talk for a leaping shoulder bump with star running back Mark Ingram.
The Crimson Tide was back on top.
Across the way, Tim Tebow couldn't do a thing, tears streaming down his cheeks as he watched the clock wind down on an ending that wasn't in his farewell plan.
Costly interception ends Tebow's comeback bid
ATLANTA — When Tim Tebow's bid for a third national championship ended, the tears of disappointment streamed down his face for all to see.
The high definition video boards at the Georgia Dome showed the Florida quarterback breaking down. Tebow stood helplessly watching the Alabama Crimson Tide celebrate as the final seconds counted down in the Crimson Tide's 32-13 victory in Saturday night's Southeastern Conference championship game.
"Obviously, I'm emotional, as you can see, after games," Tebow said. "It means a lot to me."

A rough Tiger can't escape
In the eight days since Tiger Woods smacked his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant and then a tree outside his Florida home, the saga surrounding the incident and the events that led to it has grown to almost epic
proportions.
Some have speculated that this is simply a reflection of our culture of celebrity, a time when the Internet and the 24-hour news cycle allow almost anyone to be famous for being famous -- to have Andy Warhol's 15 minutes.
Missed Extra Point Helps Cincinnati Win Big East Title
PITTSBURGH It was not expected that the Big East title and a Bowl Championship Series bowl appearance would be determined by a bobbled snap on an extra point attempt.
But that was what helped decide the game for No. 5 Cincinnati (12-0, 6-0) on a wintry Saturday in a 45-44 victory against No. 14 Pittsburgh (9-3, 5-2).
Panthers holder Andrew Janocko, a sophomore backup quarterback, bobbled the snap on the extra point attempt after a touchdown with 1 minute 38 seconds to go, to keep Pitt’s lead at 44-38.
An SEC Scouting Report From a Coach Who Knows
Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen played both No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Alabama this season and served as the Gators’ offensive coordinator in their 31-20 victory over the Crimson Tide last year. Few have the depth of Mullen’s perspective on the teams, who will play Saturday in the SEC championship game. Mullen talked to Pete Thamel.
It’s going to be a defensive game. Even though the teams play defense differently, they are well-coached and avoid mistakes, and their players compete with great fundamentals.
The Gators use their speed and blitz a lot, putting their cornerbacks on islands and playing one on one. The Crimson Tide, on the other hand, does it with size, beating you up front to stop the run. That forces you into passing situations that you don’t want to be in.
